Memo to Commission on Judicial Conduct: What about the criminal acts by 'connected' jurists?

NY Judge Censured for Jailing Litigants
The New York Law Journal by Daniel Wise - June 4, 2008

The state Commission on Judicial Conduct yesterday censured a Rensselaer Family Court judge for holding litigants in three cases in contempt without first giving them a warning and an opportunity to stop the offending conduct. The procedurally defective orders issued by Judge Linda C. Griffin resulted in one litigant being confined for seven days in the county jail and another for one hour. The third litigant, though ordered confined at the jail for one week, would have been in custody in any event for other reasons, the commission said. "While the litigants in these cases may have been contentious to varying degrees," the commission said, "it is clear that respondent abused the contempt power" by failing to observe "mandated procedures." The agency's order was based on a stipulation between its staff and Judge Griffin, which set forth an agreed statement of facts and recommended censure as the appropriate sanction.

  1. Thank you so very much. I thought I was alone. I even paid a lawyer to file a complaint against a Westchester Judge who clearly committed a crime. I was not involved in any case before him, but I had the documented proof. And the Judges' Commission did nothing. My lawyer told me the judge was protected and had good connections. Connections to What? - the mob!

  2. The Commission on Judicial Conduct is a political gang of hoodlums organized to destroy judges who are not liked, or simply need to disappear so their place can go to a connected friend. But, most importantly, the Commission is in place to make sure that certain judges are completely protected. And yes, even protected when they (the judges) commit a criminal act. The Commission is a political 'hit squad' and they've never denied this fact.

  3. I filed a complaint against the Surrogate here in Bklyn about my husband's estate and they would never even talk to me. Guess he had protection?

  4. A friend's husband (who is a lawyer) was involved with a judge -- and the both of them ripped off an unrelated family trust worth more than a million dollars. My friend, now divorced, lives in fear for her life because the husband said she'd be found in a gutter somewhere if she ever told anyone about what hubby and the judge were involved in. She did make a complaint to the judges ethics committee and she got a form letter saying no thanks. The crooked judge is still on the bench.

  6. when I told my attorney that I was going to complain about the Judge and what he did in my case, he went and told the Judge!!! The Judge privately told me that if I filed a complaint he would screw me more on the case. He also said it would do no good because he knew people!!! The whole thing is a bad memory I want to forget. These public servants are no different than the mob.

  8. bet that the state Commission on Judicial (Mis-)Conduct will say "What stinking criminal acts you talking about?" Why of course they don't see anything! These same Judges are suing the people of the State of New York for pay raises. The Governor would be well served to fire them all...

  11. I attempted to file charges against an upstate administrative judge..and the lead atty for JCC would not even listen to anything I was accusing her of! She was a female, put in place by a NYC powerhouse and that could "never" be investigated and HAD to be covered up!
The JCC already knew my credibility and ethics from an earlier investigation (of which this was a result of, that had developed into a brutal retaliation). I am certain they knew I was being retaliated against for that previous judicial removal ,as this woman judge was the REMOVED judge's friend through her social friends, and worked with him ,as well was his boss when he was removed. She also had political friends that were close to him, and the political person who brutalized me the most...was appointed by this judge, as my supervisor...6 months earlier! This supervisor and her political party, greatly helped this judge get elected....just 6 months before that!
After three conversations with with the Rochester JCC...the answer was I could not even file a written request for investigation!
So I got canned from the phone..outright, no apologies and no questions as to what I knew, or had investigated! And this is what you call judicial oversight??? I am appalled and request the Feds for sure... .for OCA and the STATE JUDICIAL CONDUCT COMMISSION!

  12. had a problem with a Judge on a case and told my attorney I wanted to sue him. He told me that you can't sue a Judge, he has immunity. He them said I could file a complaint, but that was a waste of time since nothing would happen. So they have rigged the system along with their attorney brethren.

  14. Judge Judith Kaye should be the first to be sanctioned. She is totally out of order in my opinion.
