NEW WAR OVER ASTOR LAWYER

NEW WAR OVER ASTOR LAWYER
The New York Post by LAURA ITALIANO - January 10, 2009

In what the defense decried as an "11th-hour ambush," prosecutors in the Brooke Astor swindle case yesterday demanded that one of the three lawyers for Anthony Marshall, who's accused of ripping off his heiress mom, be booted six weeks before trial. Kenneth Warner represented Astor in two matters related to the alleged grand larceny and fraud, and ethics standards and case law both prevent attorneys from representing two clients on opposing sides of the same matter, said Assistant District Attorney Joel Seidemann. Warner argued that it was Marshall who hired him to represent Astor.

  2. You are right about the corruption of the Westchester Courts but this case in brought in Manhattan and Scarpino is not happy since he wanted total control of the Astor monies.
