Hon. Ann Pfau, Chief Administrative Judge

Hon. Alan D. Scheinkman Appointed Administrative Judge of Ninth Judicial District

NEW YORK – Chief Administrative Judge Ann Pfau today announced the appointment of Hon. Alan D. Scheinkman as Administrative Judge of the Ninth Judicial District. The appointment was made with the approval of Chief Judge Jonathan Lippman after consultation with Presiding Justice A. Gail Prudenti of the Appellate Division, Second Department. Judge Scheinkman replaces Hon. Francis Nicolai, who has been appointed Presiding Justice of the Appellate Term of the Supreme Court for the Ninth and Tenth Judicial Districts. Judge Pfau said, “Over the last thirty years, Judge Scheinkman has served the legal community in nearly every capacity – as a law clerk to a Court of Appeals judge, an attorney in the public and private sectors, a professor of law and a jurist. He has gained an impeccable reputation for his insight, integrity and hard work. Judge Scheinkman’s keen knowledge of the court system and the legal profession, coupled with his outstanding work as a Justice of the Supreme Court and an Associate Justice of the Appellate Term of the Ninth and Tenth Judicial Districts, make him ideally equipped for the challenges of this critical position. I am pleased that he has accepted this appointment and look forward to working with him in his new role. I also want to express my thanks to Judge Nicolai for his many contributions to the court system over nearly three decades, his leadership of the courts of the Ninth District for the last ten years, and his continued service to the State Judiciary in his new position.”

Hon. Alan D. Scheinkman began his judicial tenure in 2007, when he was elected to the Supreme Court in Westchester County. The same year, he was appointed an Associate Justice of the Appellate Term of the Ninth and Tenth Judicial Districts. A graduate of St. John’s University School of Law, Judge Scheinkman was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1976, the United States Supreme Court in 1990 and the United States Court of Appeals, Second Circuit, in 1992; he is also admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia and the United States District Court for the Southern, Eastern and Northern Districts of New York. He began his career as a law clerk to Court of Appeals Senior Associate Judge Hon. Matthew J. Jasen and subsequently served as a partner in the firm Scheinkman, Fredman & Kosan; Associate Professor of Law at St. John’s University; Westchester County Attorney; and Associate Minority Counsel of the New York State Senate. He is a member of the Association of Supreme Court Justices Committee on Pattern Jury Instructions and the Judicial Hearing Officer Selection Committee for the Ninth Judicial District, and is a former Vice President of the New York State County Attorneys Association. With his appointment as Administrative Judge of the Ninth Judicial District, Judge Scheinkman will be stepping down from his position as Associate Justice of the Appellate Term of the Ninth and Tenth Judicial Districts. The appointment is effective immediately.

You people don't know what the hell you're talking about if you think this is GOOD news. Nothing good with this 'replacement' - This guy Alan Scheinkman is a student of Frank Nicolai. See how long Alan was a judge... 2 whole years, folks. And they make him the administrative judge of 5 counties!?!?!

This is a disaster. Notice also that Alan was at DelBello when a partner there--Tartaglia --- had his little criminal issue with the IRS. This appointment is nothing more than BAD re-packaging. If you look closely into Schienkman's eyes, you'll see the devil himself- Frank Nicolai.
(Shame on Ann Pfau. Who directed this Ann. It wasn't your doing.....)

Oh Wow, so Judge Snakerman used to work for the Law Firm of Epstein Becker & Green, the same Law Firm who's currently representing Harvey Gladstein & Partners F/K/A Gladstein & Isaac regarding a sexually assault and battery case which involves Allen Isaac. Does Allen Isaac ring a bell Judge Snakerman?

  7. Scheinkman, while many think he's close to Nicolai, still doesn't like a lot of what he's seen around White Plains. I say give the guy a chance. I think he'll be putting some people in their place. Remember, he also had to keep his mouth shut- if for nothing else, just to survive.

  8. Ok..Ok..We'll give the Judge a break!!!!! Just remember this, you really don't know what's happening behind closed doors or who the BAD guys really are.

  11. Welcome to the Party Mr. Scheinkman, aiding and abetting all these serious crimes against the People that are already exposed and in the spotlight will be fun and risk all of your assets. I am suing the people like Prudenti for a Trillion, the more lawyers, judges and politicians who sign up to aid and abet the corruption, the more recovery, wonder how his house looks. Certainly if he is on the take, sooner or later the assets will appear somewhere, like in Madoff, Dreier or Stanford schemes, nice yachts, etc. and will be recoverable, RICO all the way I say.
So hop on board, to stave off prosecution and we will be handing you OBSTRUCTION charges, you know, the Title 18 kind.
Perhaps though, like Anderson, there is a gun to the head, perhaps he like Anderson is afraid to leave his office or Sherry Cohen and Thomas Cahill or the ilk’s of them will be waiting. Perhaps his reports have been changed, perhaps he had a change of heart and wants to be a valiant judge in a cesspool and make a stand (doubt it but...). If not, he is just one more scumbag on judgment day, and it is coming, perhaps not in NY, one less scumbag ruining our country and courts to be jailed on that day, the one seals your fate.
So give him and chance, give your Congress a chance and if they corrupt, sign them up for judgment day.

  12. Alan may be a nice guy but he was in my opinion at the most corrupt law firm in West. Co. (or maybe NYS) for 4 years, DELBELLO et al. prior to becoming a Judge and that is all I have to know!

  14. here is a comment from a web article published on Westchester County matters; anyone know what really happened here and why Governor Cuomo really got rid of Delbello and why nothing happened thereafter?

    ***********************************
    Comment:

"Sharon Enea's murder was the darkest day in Westchester County's long history. It showed how corruption and organized crime had worked it's way into the highest levels of county government and in particular tainted law enforcement with an unsolved murder that was politically motivated. Al DelBello was sent packing by Gov. Cuomo because of the Sharon Enea case and other matters that were brought to his attention by the State Police. Too bad it was not followed up by an investigation that would have sent some of the most highest ranking officials in Westchester County to prison for life. Sad thing is, it still goes on today.

  17. The new administrative judge sure has his hands full in trying to clean up the widespread mess of corruption that Nicolai was able to get away with for years. He should set up his own blue ribbon panel to correct the Nicolai corruption

  18. HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE THAT A CRIMINAL ORGANIZATION (OCA)CAN RUIN PEOPLES LIVES AND CONTINUE TO COMMIT CRIMES WITHOUT BEING PROSECUTED, THIS AMOUNTS TO VIOLATION OF RICO STATUTES, WHERE ARE THE FEDS?

  19. my name is Jennifer Enea, i am Sharon Enea's only child/daughter. I am writing so as to clear up some of the nonsense and untruths i have just read on not only this blog but other blogs and newspapers. First and most importantly, the corruption in NY politics is still in full force now as it was back in the 70's. My mother was one of the only NY politicians in history who was trying to clean up NY politics. A fight she found harder and with more struggles than even she had thought. the filthy politicians of NY didnt like this one bit! They bullied and threatened her and when that didnt work, they found a way to shut her up. My mother always taught me to say what i feel, stand up for my beliefs and never let anyone bully me into staying quiet or hindering my education in life. She lived that mantra to its fullest and ultimately paid the ultimate sacrifice for it. I have no problem doing the same... it is of utmost importance that people learn that this murder was not about DelBello and how dispicable he was, that fact is fully known and out there. BUT lets get something perfectly clear, DelBello and my mother were never involved nor was she his "squeeze" as this blogger "anonymous" so ignorantly posted. My mother was writing a tell-all book before she was murdered that was exposing the corruption of not only DelBello but, all of the judges and politicians involved with the moral and legal wrongdoings by our so-called political and justice system in the state of New York. Delbello was at the top of the list of dirt-bags and it was so well known that Cuomo had to do something about it before it all came crumbling down on him. See- it was all about "every man for himself" back then. My mother was too smart and too outspoken for her own good. The people responsible for closing, reclosing and ignoring her murder case have many secrets and skeletons in their closets and judgement day awaits them. This case is not over; the people responsible for her death are very much alive and will get their day to tell their story and try to lie their way out of it again. I will now take over where my father and grandparents left off. My father may have died before seeing justice but, i will not.

  20. Judge Alan Scheinkman is the most useless waste of tax paying dollars imaginable.

He sits on cases longer than anyone. He doesn't care for small businesses and justice is definitely not swift if you are unfortunate enough to have this lazy goon on your case.

For those of you unfortunate enough to have your case land on his desk, good luck, his turnaround is a complete joke.

So much for the law being on your side, when you are in the right, and this corrupt bastard is the one who holds your fate in his hands.

    1. I am involved in a very large civil matter that has been ongoing for 5 plus years now. I first had mary brewster as our attorney referee and lefkowitz as the judge. They both seemed fair and unbiased. The plaintiffs, didnt like her rulings, so magically mary brewster was re assigned and a new referee was appointed. I always thought strings were pulled and schienkman removed mary as requested by plaintiffs councel. Reading these posts is disturbing.
