NY Partner Tapped to Head DOJ Fraud Section
The National Law Journal by Mike Scarcella - November 20, 2009
The Justice Department announced Thursday that it has tapped a Davis Polk & Wardwell partner to serve as its new Fraud Section chief. The Department has been searching for a new chief since this summer, when Steve Tyrrell announced he was stepping down. The new section chief, Denis McInerney, accepted the position today, according to Assistant Attorney General Lanny Breuer. Breuer said today that McInerney brings an "extraordinary career as a lawyer" to the section. According to McInerney's online biography, he was as an assistant U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York from 1989 to 1994, and served as a deputy chief of the Criminal Division from 1993 to 1994. In 1994, he served as an associate independent counsel in the Whitewater Investigation alongside independent counsel Robert Fiske Jr.

ReplyDeleteHey, the biggest fraud is the InJustice Dept.
ReplyDeleteIt is prudent to not be biased and look for the flat tire to transpire. This encourages apathy that will result in finding a flat once a person drives over a bed of nails and glass.

What we must do as American Patriots - is to encourage our public servants to believe we seek to stand behind them in their stance against tyranny, cronyism, corruption and all other forms of public servants bad faith.
.
I - for one - a person who did NOT vote for Obama - have been encouraged greatly by the quiet changings of the guards. The NY US Attorney Preet Bharara already put a dent in the armour of the Mitt Romney/Bain powerhouse of Ropes & Gray with the WIRE TAPS on Rajaratnam and others that led to the arrest of the Ropes & Gray attorney for insider trading dealings of EMC and other deals.

Our Public servants are only as strong as we make them to be!
