U.S. Senate Poised To Vote on President Obama's Nomination of Jonathan Lippman

U.S. Senators Expected to Vote on Lippman Any Day, before September 17, 2012

Jonathan Lippman, currently the Chief Judge of the New York State Court System, and Chief Judge of the NYS Court of Appeals, was nominated by President Barack Obama on May 23, 2012 to become a member of the 11-person Board of Directors of a little-known national organization called the State Justice Institute- a non-profit group located in Reston, Virginia.

According to its website, The State Justice Institute (the "SJI") was established by Federal Law in 1984 to award grants to improve the quality of justice in state courts, facilitate better coordination between State and Federal courts, and to foster innovate, efficient solutions to common issues faced by all courts. The SJI says that only they have the authority to "assist all State courts- criminal, civiil, juvenile, family, and appellate…"  Each of the 11 members of the SJI Board of Directors is nominated by the President, and that nomination must be confirmed by the United States Senate.

The U.S. Senate is expected to vote on the President's nomination of Judge Lippman anytime before the next SJI Board of Directors Meeting in Reno, Nevada on Monday, September 17, 2012, with the vote coming as early as Monday, September 10, 2012. The actual scheduling of the vote before the U.S. Senate is handled by U.S. Senator Harry Reid (202-224-3542 tel)  The U.S. Senate scheduling can be viewed at: www.democrts.senate.gov  -  http://democrats.senate.gov (see bottom of page)  -  http://democrats.senate.gov/2012/09/

BACKGROUND

As with all nominees, Judge Lippman was subject to an FBI background investigation.  While the FBI file is confidential, it has been confirmed that in early April, 2012, White House advisors were reviewing information and documentation contained in a story called "The Allegations of Jonathan Lippman's $40 Million Dollar Fraud."  A New York based anti-court-corruption group, Ethics Rouser, had been made aware of the fact that staff from within The White House had been reviewing the material about the President's nominee, Lippman.  In fact, a staffer close to the President of the United States, and from within The White House, conducted a simple 'google' search using the words, "Jonathan Lippman boondoggle."  It was that search that led the staffer to a Wall Street Journal article, "When our Trusted Officials Lie" and, "The Allegations of Jonathan Lippman's $40 Million Dollar Fraud" - where evidence that had been previously relayed to the New York office of the FBI had been posted.  CLICK HERE to see the article, "White House 'Criminal Leaks' Explained."

On Thursday, May 24, 2012, The New York Law Journal published an article by John Caher (jcaher@alm.com) about President O'Bama's nomination of Judge Lippman, "Lippman Nominated to Board Position of State Judicial Institute." The article quotes SJI Executive Director Jonathan Mattiello as saying that Judge Lippman, "has a great reputation in the sate court community" and brings both "administrative and judicial experience…"

  1. Does Mitt Romney know that the President has nominated the likes of Jonathan Lippman to a national post?

  2. God help us. Jonathan Lippman is largely responsible for the complete corruption of NY's court system. What's next, Mr. President, nominating Eliot Spitzer, Vito Lopez and Shelly Silver to a country-wide ethics panel...

  3. I don't know whether to laugh or cry. JONATHAN LIPPMAN?!?!?! How out of touch is this president?!?!

  4. Shelly (I'll never tell the truth) Silver is Jonathan Lippman's Godfather and he wouldn't have been the Head Judge without Shelly. Now Shelly is under federal investigation for his involvement in the Vito Lopez sex payoff scandal and using public funds for this purpose. Oh, and the AG also approved the payoff! The 'Dirty' Secret is this has been going on in Albany for years. How many more of these corrupt situation have taken place?

  5. I live in New Jersey and thought we had corrupt bench warmers but I must confess that New York just might take the cake- and the money, all the money, from anyone who has it. Please keep Liptman in New York where he belongs

  6. By the way Jonathan Lippman's wife also works for the NYS Court system. Has she been nominated for anything?

Jonathan Lippman was the king of cover-ups while he was the chief administrative judge. He protected the worst of the worst scumbags with law degrees. And only in New York would a lawless hack like Lippman be made the chief judge. What the hell was Andrew Cuomo thinking?

  9. I'll tell you what Cuomo's been doing. He's been doing the same thing everyone else has been doing in New York---- COUNTING THE MONEY !

  10. i was shocked when i originally heard the news of Lippman's nomination... i tweeted my disgust and fired off some letters...

i agree with the above... Obama's got to be made aware of what's going on up here in NY... and above all, he must withdraw his nomination...

don't wait for God to help you... i've found that God only helps those who help themselves... write to Obama2012... call and write to Reid... tweet it, facebook it, write to your local news outlets and media pages...

if you sit there and do nothing, then you have nuthin to complain about...

    this insanity must end...

  11. There appears to be just one solution to the court corruption. Move to China. At least they don't make believe that they have a system of justice.

  18. Lippman's wife… also receiving a state paycheck… in 2000, the Association of Justices criticized Jonathan Lippman for trying to curtail political patronage in court system. Lippman wanted state judges to approve the hiring of lawyers, real estate managers and other professionals by receivers to help ensure that receivers' hiring practices are based on merit, not on political favoritism or NEPOTISM-- yet, that's what Lippman proposed... Think there's a DOUBLE STANDARD here?!?

  19. Connecting the dots. Schmuer and his hand puppet Gillibrand certainly know of Lippman's corruption. The Lippman nomination required the pre-approval of Schumer, who then has his hand puppet, Gillibrand, bark yes. The FBI knows of Lippman and does nothing. Schumer's lap dog, Bharara, is US attorney for Manhattan, who doesn't present to the Grand Jury. Even Bush's AG, Mukassy, was Bush's "reach across the aisle pick" chosen by Schumer. The FBI is run by the DOJ under Holder and is beholding to Schumer and his lap-dog, Bharara. Why was Madoff able to run free for so long? Gillibrand is now running claiming to protect women, while really protecting Lippman, Silver, Corzine, and all the unindicted derivative thieves on Wall Street. All NY court and financial corruption runs with Schumer and his hand puppet's protection.

  20. The New York FBI is well aware that the New York Family Courts, the only court that remains anonymous and non-public, remains this way precisely because it is actively used by foreign and domestic espionage, terrorist, activist, and other criminal organized crime elements for the purpose of entrapment, extortion, blackmail, covering up child pornography/sexual abuse/exploitation, and other criminal acts directed against certain targeted people for political, ideological, financial, or other nasty reasons, and most if not all of the Family Court Judges and Personnel are either aware of this, know about it, or actually take active part in it.

Again - it is the ONLY court in the nation which does not operate publicly and operates in the shadows as a proverbial Star Chamber - much the like the Disciplinary Committees - but even the Criminal Courts are part of the public record - so why not the Family Courts?

    Now you know why.
