Why Are State Judges Dropping Like Flies ?

And more importantly, what can be done about it.... Garson, Seddio, Gross and now Horowitz.

On the heels of Supreme Court Judge Lawrence Horowitz's resignation comes the New York State Commission on Judicial Conduct report, and which is quite enlightening. See "Horowitz Documents" to the RIGHT

We think Larry Horowitz should turn his personal horror into something good- for himself, and for society. Larry, we beg you to go to the Feds and tell them what is wrong within the 9th Judicial District.

Readers, what do you think?

Sludge Lawrence (Horrible) Horowitz how much and to whom did pay to get your Sludgeship?

Anonymous said...

how about it Larry tell us how much it cost you and who got the money? do you think you can take a tax deduction for the loss? a sharp guy like you is always looking for angles

Mr. Horowitz, the choice is yours. You can be remembered as another hack who had to resign, or a person who helped clean up a corrupt system. In fairness to you, the system was corrupt BEFORE you got there. You were simply guided, and told, how things worked, what to do, and what you could get away with. And you know this was, and is, wrong. Start talking Larry, do it for your kids.

It is said that power corrupts, but actually it's more true that power attracts the corruptible. The sane are usually attracted by other things than power.

Don't they have ethics training for new judges? Who is the supervisory judge who should have been overlooking what Horowitz was doing as a judge?

Anonymous said...

Yes, new judges get training. And yes, that includes ehtics. But ethics don't matter in the 9th judicial distric.

The supervising judge is Francis Nicolai, and under his bullying, er, "leadership" anyone who is or wants to be a judge doesn't have to worry about ethics or the rules. The only need be concerned about what Frank Nicolai wants. period.

don't give Sludge David (pretty Gross) Gross a pass - what did he pay for his black robes? he was always a shark out there feeding and he had to make the cost of his sludgeship back, after all this is a business with these rats - their in it to steal as much money as they can.

Power does not corrupt men. Fools, however, if they get into a position of power, corrupt power."

Maybe we should give Horrorwitz a break.

He was lured into being a judge knowing what the other judges were doing. Business as usual. This is what a judge can do: throw his judicial weight around.

It doesn't matter if it's wrong, it's what judges do... double standands, you're a judge now.

One set of rules for the almighty judges, and another set of rules for the rest of us slobs.

the feds should be knocking on Larry's door. Once the dribbling down both legs stops, he just may talk and, dare i say, tell the truth...

Do the right thing Horowitz. Talk to the FBI.

A judge enters the courtroom, strikes the gavel and says, "Before I begin this trial, I have an announcement to make. The lawyer for the defense has paid me $15,000 to swing the case his way. The lawyer for the plaintiff has paid me $10,000 to swing the case her way. In order to make this a fair trial, I am returning $5,000 to the defense."

This blog is full of it. The question is Why Are ONLY CERTAIN Judges dropping like flies.

I read on this blog about a judge denying a jewish cancer patient money she needs for treatment- money withheld from her mother's 17yr old estate.

Then I read about Judge Scarpino getting $300,000.00 in loans from the Bank of NY after the bank is involved in a Tom Carvel proceeding.

Nicolai used to just show up at police stations to intervene, of course with his armed "bodyguard-driver" in tow. Nicolai didn't have to announce to anyone that he was a judge.

But only Horowitz gets slammed.

Anonymous said...

Slam them all - hell I'm an equal opportunity slammer. Their all bums and belong in Jail. Start with Nicolai, Barone, Scarpino, Horowitz, Gross et al. and don't stop keep going.

Anonymous said...

The judges are dropping like flies because the greed-driven inside dealing has gotten out of control. There was ZERO oversight over the last 10 years or so, so the judges really came to believe they could get away with anything, including breaking the law.

Anonymous said...

yep, larry. go to the feds and start talking. it's the right thing to do.

Anonymous said...

David, Larry come on guys how much did it cost you to become Judges? How many balloons baby?

Anonymous said...

So Judge Horowitz was using court stationary to write personal letters.

What's the big deal?

Judge Scarpino's been doing it for years. click on to www.wmmovers.com and see the testimonials (Scarpino- Re: 6/13/05 Moving of Desk from Home to Chambers)

Even if he gets free moving out of it, what's the big deal? I don't get it.

....just another corrupt hack, i guess.....

Anonymous said...

these are just the guys that got caught ..... think about the one that haven't been nailed yet ..... in reality they're all the same, just dirtbags

Anonymous said...

While we're at it what did your Judgeship cost you Anthony Scarpino?

Anonymous said...

What about Francis Nicolai, what did he pay to get his black robes?

Anonymous said...

Please Larry, make some good out of this.... you know Nicolai & Company make Boss Tweed look like an alter boy... (you know, Nicolai stabbed you in the back, at the same time he stole your sandwich and smiled in your face)

Yes, I say, talk to the feds !!

Certain Judges are dropping like flies because they violated their judicial oath and acted improperly (and many times illegally!)

Family and friends of honest judges are happy to see the bad judges go.

Anonymous said...

And where do bad Judges go? Let me think - oh my they go to Jail where they belong. Like Garson in Bklyn.

Anonymous said...

our organization is dedicated to seeing to it that all corrupt Judges go to JAIL, see our websites either the national or New York

www.jail4judges.org

Anonymous said...

you got the right idea put all of the tyrants in black robes in jail where they belong

Anonymous said...

keep in mind that there are some honest, hard working judges.

Anonymous said...

Because of the extent of the judicial corruption in New York, perhaps court decisions should be made by the flip of a coin. At least you would then have SOME chance….

The choice should be given:

1. trial by judge;
2. trial by jury;
3. trial by coin toss

Anonymous said...

it's time to clean up the mess, Governor.

Anonymous said...

Horowitz, Gross et al. are a drop in the bucket. Don't let anyone fool you, there are bigger fish out there.

Anonymous said...

because they have allowed themselves to be corrupted.

Anonymous said...

Hey Larry, go to the feds. Oh, and you know that guy who made believe he was "helping" you. You know, the guy who wrote a letter for you. (yes, Nicolai) Well, his letter pretended that he supported you, but behind your back he wanted you out--and he said so to the people that mattered. Oh, and guess who's now trying to get cross-endorsed for State Supreme Court Judge, because he could only recently get elected as a County Court Judge. (answer: Francis Nicolai)

Anonymous said...

Quick Henry the Flit! That's what we need for all these flies.

Anonymous said...

they're dropping like flies with a lot more to come.

Ethics. It is inappropriate to use judicial stationary for anything except things to do with the Court you work in. Arguing with a phone company over a bill with a former law parter is NOT what court stationary should be used for. And questioning what his local place of worship charged (a Jewish temple) on this stationary is ridiculous. No common sense!

Ethics. Read the Judicial Conduct report on Horowitz. He was married and had a girlfriend. At the same time. Though many may say it's okay, it is unethical to say the least.

And many suggest to Horowitz he should go to the feds with info he may have. Who are you kidding. Horowitz resigned to save HIMSELF. If he went to the feds he'd be absolutely, positively washed up. Wouldn't be able to open another law practice. His name would be mud.

Yes, there are many corrupt judges, so why'd little Larry get nailed? Because he flaunted his position, used it, and used people. Period.

Well Horowitz was a sitting Judge in Orange County. Where the backroom delas go on and on. I bet Horowitz knows about the dirty deals going on in Orange County Goshen Supreme Court and Family Court. Horowitz is it true that attorneys in Orange County are falsifying Court orders and tampering with Court records to stir cases in front of some judges with the help of a particular law guardian who is appointed by the court but paid privately.

Anonymous said...

Francis A. Nicolai oversses the Court in Goshen New York, Orange County. Francis A. Nicolai knows what is taken placed there and probably counting that is a small town where everybody knows your name and everybody keeps quiet. Maybe Horowitz spoke to much to somebody about Orange County and it was decided to get him off before it was too late. Isn't that what happened when he was shipped to Orange County from Westchester?

Anonymous said...

Hey Horowitz start talking about your days in Orange County you know in Goshen. Do tell Horowitz how some of the Judges and attorneys are rigging cases. You know sooner or later some of the cases maybe tied to you too. Come clean and save whatever dignity you have left. Talk about the secrets of the chamber and how much does it cost litigants to have the judges better judgment.

As a an aware court clerk in western ny, i always kept a toy 8 ball (plastic) on my desk with typical court decisions....guilty without proof... plea everything...nice to the judge..time served! the lawyers saw it and loved it...OCA would have flogged me if they knew!
