Obama Nominates Bharara As Manhattan U.S. Attorney
The New York Law Journal by Mark Hamblett, NEW IN BRIEF- May 18, 2009
President Barack Obama Friday nominated Preet Bharara to be the next U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York. The 40-year-old Mr. Bharara is chief counsel to New York Senator Charles Schumer. He served as a prosecutor in the Southern District from 2000 to 2005, working in the general crimes, narcotics and organized crime/terrorism units. Mr. Bharara’s nomination was one of six U.S. attorney nominations by the White House, including Paul Fishman, a partner at Friedman, Kaplan Seiler & Adelman in Newark, for the District of New Jersey. If confirmed by the Senate, Mr. Bharara would fill the post now held by Acting U.S. Attorney Lev Dassin. There have been no nominations in New York’s other three districts , but Mr. Schumer has recommended Hogan & Hartson partner Loretta Lynch to return as the top prosecutor in the Eastern District, where she served form 1999 to 2001, and federal prosecutors Richard Hartunian and William Hocheul for the Northern and Western Districts respectfully.

I don't like the idea that this guy Preet is so close to Schumer....
This is a very big disappointment. We should get someone new and not connected to the local politicians. This is "New York," not "Schumer York"
Wake up and open your eyes.Obama is a socialist who despises most things American.Anyone who would pick Joe Biden as a V.P. has no common sense at all. Period !
Wakeup, Wakeup! This minion Preet Bharara is a shill for Chucky. Chucky Schumer the putz is putting in the fix. This way he doesn't feel the heat! The putz walks!
Who is the NY Don and what is Baharara's role? Connect the dots. Madoff runs huge Ponzi scheme while federal regulators/ lawyers look the other way. Madoff is a large contributor to Democrats and Schumer's campaign for Senate control. NY Federal judges are all approved by Schumer. No one else is charged in Madoff's family/close associates. Madoff was paying off Bush(?), but not if you follow the money. So much legal corruption in NY and no federal investigation, was it Bush or Schumer? Schumer selects his lackey as NY prosecutor. Madoff stole from his fellow Jews, just as Schumer steals the good faith of his fellow Jews and takes his cut of more for himself. Who is the Don(?); follow where the money goes and who makes the final leadership choices
Which case was it.. that even an F.B.I. agent felt the need for "Whistleblower status"???
Schumer looks like he's taking over not just NY, but the rest of the US.
He's clearly already put the fix in to the next NYS election for senator, and got Obama involved in that. Now he is clearly fixing the judicial system.
When is he up for re-election?
