NY Presiding Justice Accused of Lying on Mortgage Docs

Judge out of order
The New York Post by Isabel Vincent and Melissa Klein - March 27, 2011

A Manhattan judge in charge of one of the most prestigious state courts in the country lied on mortgage documents, received property-tax breaks he didn't deserve and made questionable hires that included his ex-wife. Justice Luis Gonzalez, the presiding judge of New York's Appellate Division First Department, simultaneously took advantage of both rent-stabilization rules and home-ownership tax breaks by claiming places in two boroughs as his home, The Post has learned. In 2009, he took out a $510,276 loan on a Brooklyn house, attesting on the mortgage document that the property would be his primary residence. He then got a STAR tax break in 2009, 2010 and 2011 -- a perk that amounted to $4,440 and is supposed to go only for a primary residence. But Gonzalez really resided in a rent-stabilized Grand Concourse apartment in The Bronx, a living situation that is also supposed to be a primary residence. Gonzalez confessed his duplicity to The Post, saying he designated the Brooklyn abode as his main home to get the mortgage. "To be honest with you, I did not think there was anything improper about it," he said. "It sounds super silly, super stupid." Asked whether the deception was a crime, he said, "If it is, you're talking to someone who is in deep trouble." Jonathan New, a mortgage-fraud expert and former Manhattan federal prosecutor, said it's a federal crime -- fraud -- to lie on a credit application to a federally insured institution or for a federally insured loan. It is punishable by up to 30 years' prison and a maximum $1 million fine. Documents on file with the city show that Gonzalez got the February 2009 loan through now-defunct Union Federal Mortgage Corp. and that the loan was insured by the Federal Housing Administration. Such government-insured loans are available only for a primary residence. Gonzalez has taken out four mortgages on the Williamsburg home since 2004 and paid off three. On the first, for $280,000, he also said he would live in the house, on South Sixth Street. The judge says he lived in the modest two-bedroom house sometime between 2006 or 2007 and 2009, a period in which he borrowed $467,000 in two loans. He said he moved back to The Bronx in January 2009 and was unaware the Brooklyn home had a tax break. Gonzalez, 65, was promoted from an Appellate Division judge to presiding justice in March 2009 by Gov. David Paterson, becoming the first Latino to hold to the position. As presiding judge, he was required to live in The Bronx or Manhattan. He earns $147,600. Critics say Gonzalez has allowed nepotism to run rampant in the court. Vivian Gonzalez, whom the judge divorced 10 years ago but remains friendly with, was hired in December as a $65,000-a-year court clerk. Gonzalez said there was "no prohibition" against hiring his ex. He said he signed off on recent hirings of court workers' relatives, including his secretary's brother, his executive assistant's nephew and the son of a court officer who used to be his driver. None had state court experience, state payroll records show. But Gonzalez said all were qualified. Additional reporting by Candice Giove -- melissa.klein@nypost.com

This post typifies what is wrong with the court system and law practice. Attorneys have been subject to discipline for such conduct. Resulting in ruined careers. Some Judges have been disciplined for such conduct. A Judge was removed as a Judge and eventually disbarred for stealing $1,000.00 from a client when he was a practicing attorney. The resulting discipline and act were ten years apart. Note that Gonzalez based on this article got over $4,000.00 in tax abatements. We need for everyone to be treated equally under the law not unequally based on your status and connection.

And pray tell what do his 'ETHICS FORMS' reveal? Want to bet nothing is listed. The impudent OCA, DDC & CJC will give the fraud a free pass. It's the same story - one law for us, the citizens and no law for the rulers! This thing has been living off the tax payers for too long. The 1st Dept. is a den of thieves that been long in jail!

A couple of those jobs are civil service required jobs..like court clerk, court officer. So where was the bulldog union.... CSEA..... when these nepotistic jobs were handed out without a civil service ranking and selection?
OCA and CSEA work in collusion.... so that the union can get the small pay raises every year they look for..without much trouble or financial payoffs.
One bloated CSEA rep told me in 2005, that CSEA only worried about those little raises because CSEA believes(they have no concrete knowledge) that their members only want CSEA to seek raises exclusively...so all the bad stuff OCA demands, like judges hiring their girlfriends for all the top supervisory titles, unfair hearing practices allowing them to fire anyone..no matter how illegal....stays put in every contract...check it out for yourself.
It is stated like most of what is in those convoluted contracts CSEA PUBLISHES for member reference, in paragraphs that need judicial interpreters to assess...but they can be determined if you study them for weeks or months and then sleep on the thought that CSEA is not your buddy, so the wording will always be OCA friendly!
So CSEA...what do you say about the jobs that this judge handed out as a favor..and also.... where can you locate those illusive civil service laws.
Civil Service told me they don't have them...they exist, but not for publication...try the internet maybe..huh...really?

Eric Holder, Scheiderman, Cuomo, Tembeckjian who claims to read newspapers to begin action, where are you? Criminal prosecution and immediate removal from the bench is required; anything less and you each are the bigger evil. Fire the entire nepotistic staff at Appellate Court.

Gonzalez and Susan Hernandez are two of the most corrupt individuals in the entire unified court system. There are at least 40 other friends and relatives, not only in the Appellate Division but all over the the Bronx as well. Numerous complaints have been sent to the IG, hopefully this will be the start of something.

Isn't this the same Luis Gonzalez who was discussed in recent posts?

Isn't this the same Luis Gonzalez who isn't really a judge but was given the position of "Administrative Judge"?

Let's hope that the investigation doesn't stop with this, but they look into how he got this promotion.

Anonymous said...

If Gonzalez got caught, it's not because he is more corrupt, but either sloppier or crossed the wrong people.

The Second Dept, particularly the 9th JD has them beat. Look at whose in charge at the OCA. That's probably why nothing changes there.

Anonymous said...

The same Luis Gonzalez, and it was because of both sloppiness and arrogance. Both the judge and Susan flaunted these hirings of inept and conceited relatives in the face of everyone. It was only a matter of time before complaints were submitted. Furthermore the ones mentioned are only the tip of the iceberg, his nephew as well as girlfriend were also recently employed in the Appellate Division with high salaries and no prior court experience.

re: civil service jobs

fyi, although the jobs maybe civil service, they can be filled without complying with the laws and rules (any surprise).

I think we all know that when dealing with any government agency, if they want to do something, or not do something, there is nothing anyone can do about it.

If there was actual accountability and repercussions for misconduct, there probably wouldn't be a ne
ed for this blog.

Anonymous said...

Any job OCA distributes may be in the category that violates civil service rules...wherever those rules are now resting for viewing...but that is why we pay such high union dues...so CSEA..our civil service watchdog, will prevent civil service titled and tested jobs, from going to Judicial family, friends and those many, many girlfriends that the Judges so enjoy on the desk in their offices..yes Appellate judge sitting and now 76...I mean you and your trim!
Where are the comments defending CSEA from the reps... scared because you know I am right and ready with more for you for later.

What Speedy Gonzalez should have said was that it was OK for judges and lawyers to be criminals in New York. And the more sex they have the better. And the more they screw people (the little people) all the better. Realize that screwing people doesn't necessarily have anything to do with sex. Ask a shrink, he/she will give you the details.

The problem with court corruption and the existence of any kind of reform is that the court's only pretend accountability in litigation after the arrests, is another court..Federal Ct..... so now you are fighting judges and lawyers with judges and lawyers...cannot happen in this America we have today.
You also then have Gov. agency going after another Gov. agency, likely all doing the same crimes..not going to happen!
You have the option of the Gov agencies of the FBI, DOJ, CJC ETC. and they are also part of the same game...not interested in busting up what great gig they have going until their retirements.
So what do you have.. a very interesting fact loaded lawsuit stuck in a Gov. judicial entanglement, that is attempting to figure out how to legally twist judicial crimes to benefit OCA's reputation, because the pltf has information and damages that could cause greater exposure and harm to the NY justice syndicate.
So this case continues bending and twisting through the courts, always adjourned 100% by the courts for their failure to comply... with zero repercussions for their circumventing of due process, for multiple years with no end in sight...until maybe the American people, not Gov. agencies who are all completely unheroic....can finally view the truth and demand integrity and the long sought reform!

The Mafia's domination at the Javits Centre has become an explosive issue for New York politicians. The centre was run by Fabian Palomino, an appointee of the former New York governor Mario Cuomo. It is alleged by the New York State senate majority leader, Joseph Bruno, that Palomino skimmed cash from unions at the centre, some of which was used to fund Mario Cuomo's failed re-election bid last year. In return, Mr Palomino claims mob money helped elect George Pataki, the Republican who beat Mario Cuomo. Palomino points to two New York haulage companies that assisted the Pataki campaign, both of which have ties to the Genovese family.

On Monday, Governor Pataki named a new chairman for the Javits Centre and announced an inspector to probe Mafia finances, but Joe Coffey doubts much will happen. "Politicians lack the will to crack the Mafia open. Too many have too much to lose by closing the mob down."

http://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/a-deadly-smell-of-rotten-fish-1612264.html

**************************************

"The Javits management has nothing to do with negotiating for labor charges," said former center president Fabian Palomino. "Those prices are negotiated on behalf of the show managers."

Palomino, a close friend and adviser to former Gov. Mario Cuomo, said charges that he had failed to press the unions for changes because he didn't want to lose their political support were "damaging and misleading."

But in a pre-election event in October, Palomino and Cuomo went to the offices of the New York District Council of Carpenters to join union chief Fred Devine in a celebration of a new contract between Carpenters and decorating firms at the center.

Palomino characterized the agreement as an additional reform that increased Carpenters' working hours and reduced overtime pay from double time to time and a half.

Conboy, however, contends the deal allowed Fiorino to dole out cushy work to a small group of union insiders. And a federal civil racketeering lawsuit against the Carpenters described union president Devine as close to several top mobsters.

"I wouldn't know about that," said Palomino.

Embattled Carpenters Union boss Frederick Devine, accused of doing the mob's bidding at the Jacob Javits Convention Center, will take the offensive today at a state Senate hearing into mob corruption at the center.

Devine is scheduled to testify after Gov. Pataki and Mayor Giuliani, whose recent criticisms of the high cost of doing business at the exhibition center led to today's hearing.

. . . . . . . . . .

Former Javits Center President Fabian Palomino is also expected to testify and could face some heat from the state Senate panel led by Majority Leader Joseph Bruno for his leadership of the center.

Inspector General Sebastian Pipitone and representatives of several city and state business and tourism groups will also appear at the day-long session.

Conboy did not return calls. On Tuesday, he charged Devine with breaching his responsibility to the 30,000-member union by naming a relative of a top Genovese family mobster to a union post and with failing to remove him after Conboy filed mob association charges against the official in December.

The official, Anthony Fiorino, who earned $106,000 working as a chief steward at the center last year, is the brother-in-law of reputed acting boss, Liborio (Barney) Bellomo.

Devine's lawyer, George Santangelo, noted that Conboy could have vetoed Fiorino's appointment, but didn't. "Either Conboy's charges are nonsense, or he's incompetent for failing to veto the appointment," said Santangelo.

The charges against Fiorino are based "on facts that were in existence before April 1994, and not one charge is based on Fiorino's actions at the Javits Center," said Santangelo.

The Senate hearing will convene at 10 a.m. at 1633 Broadway at the New York Power Authority offices.

The report also said that Mr. Devine testified under oath that he had selected the two men "without any knowledge of their relationship to Coppola and Bellomo," despite the fact that the ties were mentioned in newspaper articles and in the racketeering suit. Mr. Devine was himself a defendant.

"According to President Devine," the report said, "he did not see the newspaper articles, only read very selective portions of the complaint and selected Messrs. Simon and Fiorino because Fabian Palomino, the president of the Javits Center, brought these men to his attention."

Mr. Palomino did not return calls for comment yesterday.

Mr. Conboy's report said that Mr. Fiorino and Mr. Simon had invoked their Constitutional privilege against self-incrimination when interrogated by Mr. Conboy's investigators. They refused to answer any questions about contacts or conversations with organized crime figures, including Mr. Bellomo and Mr. Coppola, or the employment of organized crime associates at the Javits Center.

Mr. Conboy in his charges yesterday said that Mr. Fiorini referred "a small pool of favored individuals" for lucrative carpenter jobs at the center.

The complaint said that Mr. Fiorini since August 1991 was "the acting agent of the Genovese organized crime family of La Cosa Nostra at the Javits Center, and knowingly associated with members and associates of the Genovese crime family and other families of La Cosa Nostra, including Liborio (Barney) Bellomo and Ralph Coppola."

Another piece of work that is on the hit parade along with Luis Gonzalez is his buddy Charles Ramos. Compare Ramos to Gonzalez and Gonzalez is in the minor leagues. Gonzalez lives in the BX. Where does Ramos live, how about CT! The OCA,DDC,CJC and the court system has protected them and others by turning a blind eye to their violations and the feds know it and have done nothing. That makes them all complicity criminally. So when do we see that they are all arrested and jailed without bail? The current alleged system of self policing of the court system does not and has not worked. What is needed is an independent entity staffed by non attorneys so the conflicts and fixes will be harder to pull.

Again, not a single "sentence" or even single "word" on Court - OCA corruption.

But, here is what Senator Sampson said about Andy Cuomo's budget as reported in the Times Union:

Senate Democratic Leader John L. Sampson said, “With the passage of this budget, Governor Cuomo has taken us through the crossroads and closer to a government that works better and costs less for taxpayers. I believe this budget sets the table for the kind of state government Middle Class families deserve. I commend Governor Cuomo for his leadership and for his commitment to restoring New York’s standing as the Empire State.”

Blogging is a great form of control...the written word is more powerful than the knife etc.
People who have issues with judicial corruption blog about it...because in many cases they have faced OCA and OCA has twisted the law, committed perjury, submitted false documents and altered paperwork attested to under oath.
So with OCA'S 3 billion dollar "taxpayer" inflated budget and their US Government given carte blanche abuse of authority, OCA has happily pissed on everyone of it's citizens who financially support their needs, mostly anywhere and absolutely at anytime without repercussions, thus blogging has developed into the best method to control information the media is supressing about court criminal operations.
Crybabbies are those who have power and abuse it to gain money fame or prominence and then whine and whine and whine, that they never get payraises....when they all know the snake of a Chief Judge has handed them all $10,000 to clean their robe and their teethe, thus the robe..bers cry and spew all day, all year long about how poor they are making $136,00, plus that 10 grand.
If you are one to confront crybabbies person...give up your name... or are you just another gutless OCA lackey they use to defend their syndicate.

to the 2:36 poster - The Conboy that you are referring to is Kenneth Conboy. Mr.Conboy went on to become a federal judge in the SDNY. I believe the first case he tried was The Wedtech Case.I don't think his supporters that got him a seat on the bench were very happy with the outcome because it didn't come out the way they/he wanted it. Eventually, Judge Conboy resigned from his lifetime appointment and went on to do bigger and better things.

The shame of it is that Judge Conboy was one of the most honest and righteous judges ANY bench has ever had.

At one time Mr.Conboy was the Commissioner of The NYC DOI for Mayor Koch. My information is that Mr.Conboy, while DOI comm., called 'em as he saw 'em, and was bumped 'upstairs' to a federal judge at the request of Koch and his pal the senator....at Koch's pleading request.

True to Judge Conboy's nature of honesty and integrity he called it like he saw it in the Wedtech Case.

As someone who worked in Albany back in the early 90s and knows a few things about how Albany was run and how stories were covered in the media, it is very hard to imagine that these Hearings on the Javits Center conducted by the newly empowered Senator Joe Bruno Senate got virtually no coverage in Albany? Its also interesting that some of the "Hearings" seemed to have been held at the NY Power Authority.

The following Quotes out of NY Times article are Most Frightening and would think the average voter in NY if they knew this would be outraged:

Mob's Man? No, Says Javits Hall Union Chief
By SELWYN RAAB
Published: April 06, 1995

Anthony D. Fiorino, dressed in jeans and a black shirt, described himself as a modest carpenter and a devoted union man who played paddle ball in his spare time and volunteered to help poor children and prison inmates.

At a hearing yesterday into charges that he is the Genovese crime family's main agent at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, Mr. Fiorino asserted it was a coincidence that he received hundreds of beeper messages from the home of Liborio Bellomo, his brother-in-law, whom Federal authorities call a top leader in the Genovese family. It was by chance, he said, that he had met Mr. Bellomo on Manhattan street corners several times in recent months.

** Here is the MOST Bothersome Part:

In his attempts to tie Mr. Fiorino to Mr. Bellomo, Mr. Berman produced records showing that 372 telephone beeper calls were made from January 1993 to July 1994 from Mr. Bellomo's home to Mr. Fiorino. Many of the calls were made during normal business hours, when Mr. Fiorino should have been at work as a top union representative in the Javits Center.

Mr. Fiorino also admitted under cross-examination that he had four or five chance meetings in recent months with Mr. Bellomo on street corners in Manhattan and in Westchester County.

http://www.nytimes.com/1995/04/06/nyregion/mob-s-man-no-says-javits-hall-union-chief.html

This guy Fiorino was HANDPICKED to be Put in this Job by Gov Mario Cuomo's Top Guy Fabian Palomino who, according to a NY Times article, Palomino admits to knowing Fiorino was connected to Organized Crime.

What seems to be much worse, it that Fiorino's Brother in Law, Bellomo, who he had 372 Phone Calls with during 1994, was NO 2 in the GENOVESE CRIME FAMILY under VINCENT THE CHIN and Mario's Guy gives the Brother in Law a TOP Job at Javits knowing who the Brother in Law was?

And then the Bruno Hearings Disappear, Never get Press in Albany and years later Senator Bruno and NYAG Andy Cuomo forge a Love Fest Alliance where Cuomo hires a top Female Staffer of Bruno?

Something smells very wrong here?

Here is the May 1995 NY Times Article that says Mario's guy Fabian Palomino admits knowing Anthony Fiorino was connected:

Portrait of Javits Center's Chief: Autocratic, Disdainful of Rules
By BRETT PULLEY
Published: May 6, 1995
. . . . . . . .

Mr. Palomino's handling of the center's waste removal contract is but one example of the wide autonomy he exercised during his tenure.

In addition to other no-bid contracts, Mr. Palomino used his position to help a man who he knew had ties to organized crime receive a powerful union job at the convention center, according to statements Mr. Palomino has made during interviews and testimony before a State Senate panel investigating the Javits operation.

. . . . . . . . . .

But some of his efforts at reform also produced some unintended consequences. In one, he persuaded representatives of the carpenters union to allow him to send a representative to sit in on their contract negotiations with show managers. "We got more concessions and give-backs than ever," he said.

In return, he helped the union representatives who gave him access to the contract negotiations, Anthony D. Fiorino and Lenard J. Simon, get the powerful positions of shop stewards, placing them in control of hiring for the center's lucrative carpenters' jobs.

Mr. Palomino did this even though -- as he later stated -- he already knew that Mr. Fiorino and Mr. Simon had close ties to members of organized crime families. In March, before a State Senate committee investigating mismanagement and corruption at the center, Mr. Palomino denied giving a recommendation to the union's main district office on behalf of the two men.

But in an interview a week before the hearing, Mr. Palomino said, "I did say nice things about them after they let me sit in on that contract they negotiated. I thought that was nice of them and it ended with good results. How could I not say nice things about them?"

Mr. Fiorino and Mr. Simon took their new jobs in April 1994, and a Federal investigator has charged that they used their positions to act as hiring agents for the mob. Consequently, Mr. Simon has been removed from his post, and a Federal administrative hearing to decide Mr. Fiorino's fate is still under way.

Liborio Salvatore Bellomo (born January 8, 1957), known as Barney and Big Barney, is a high ranking caporegime (captain) and street boss of the Genovese crime family in New York City. Bellomo was one of the fastest rising Mafia members in the United States today, becoming a capo in his mid twenties. Bellomo was considered Vincent Gigante's logical successor as boss of the Genovese family until Bellomo was sent to prison in 1996; now out on parole, his current status in the Genovese family is unknown.

from wikipedia:

. . . .

By the early 1990s, Bellomo had become one of the wealthiest and most feared organized crime figures in New York. He was directly involved in the family's most powerful rackets (including the waterfront, the Javits Center, and the Carpenter's Union), and was indirectly connected to powerful heroin traffickers. With fellow capo Vincent DiNapoli, Bellomo became the preeminent racketeer in the New York City District Council of Carpenters and an extremely influential figure in the New York construction industry.

. . . . .

Furthermore, Bellomo became dominant in the rackets at the Jacob K. Javits Center on the West Side of Manhattan by installing crew members in important union positions at the center, including soldier Ralph Coppola and his Genovese associate brother-in-law and Carpenters Local 257 shop steward Anthony Fiorino. Bellomo was also close to Genovese associate Attilio Bitondo who was Local 257's Vice-President, and involved in kickbacks from NYC contractors and businesses operating at the Javits Center. Around this time Genovese boss Vincent Gigante began mentoring Liborio Bellomo to take over as boss of the Genovese crime family.

A report by the New York State Organized Crime Task Force indicated that an alarmingly high number of the 100 carpenters that worked at the Javits Center had ties to organized crime, some of whom were made members of one of the Five Families. These carpenters made $100,000 salaries, and 60 of the 100 had criminal records. One of whom, Vincent Gigante, was the nephew of the Genovese family's Godfather. The Javits was controlled through affiliations with labor bosses Frederick Devine, Martin Forde, Attilio Bitondo, Eugene Hanley, Anthony Fiorino, Leonard Simon, Fabian Palomino, Carmine Fiore, and Ralph Coppola.

To maintain control, Anthony Fiorino, Bellomo's brother-in-law and the Local 257 steward in charge of the Javits, once threatened a man's life at a Local 257 meeting in 1984, telling him his kids could be hurt if he "steps on people's toes". Fiorino was also responsible for funneling tribute payments the Genovese and the Irish Westies Mob received from contractors operating in the Javits to the labor bosses and Barney Bellomo.

[edit] Acting boss and indictmentIn 1990, after Gigante's indictment in the Windows Case, Bellomo was appointed acting boss of the Genovese family. On June 11, 1996, Bellomo was indicted on Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) charges, including the murders of mobster Ralph DeSimone and Antonio DiLorenzo, extortion, and labor racketeering.[3] Dilorenzo was found shot to death in the backyard of his home in West New York, New Jersey. DeSimone was found in the trunk of his car at La Guardia Airport in Queens, shot five times.[4] Both DeSimone and DiLorenzo were murdered because the Genovese leadership thought they were government informants.[5]

So wait? according to that Wikipedia, this Anthony Fiorino was shaking down and threatening people as early as 1984 and then by '93-'94 when he is brother in law to the No. 2 guy in the Genovese family, Mario's guy Fabian Palomino puts this Fiorino in place at the Javits Center?

And then in '94 Mario and Palomino have a campaign event with Fred Devine who later was indicted?

But in '95, newly empowered State Senate Majority Leader Joseph Bruno begins hearings in NYC about the Javits but virtually no talk or reporting of this up in Albany?

Did the hearings go away? Anyone see the hearing records?

then by 2008, Mario's son Andrew is meeting with Al D'Amato and hiring top Bruno staffers into the AG's office while doing a "Sunshine law" with Bruno who was under investigation?

*********************************

The embodiment, however, of the new bipartisan alliance is 44-year-old Judi DeMarco, a $110,000-a-year deputy counsel to Andrew Cuomo. Until Cuomo hired her shortly after he took office in January, DeMarco was on the state senate payroll, at a peak of $77,000, working for at least two different senators over eight years and establishing what many in Albany have described as a "close and personal" friendship with Joe Bruno. His spokesman, John McArdle, would say only: "Bruno knew her and knew she did some great work." McArdle also acknowledged that it was Bruno who recommended her for the Cuomo job, adding that she was one of several names submitted to Cuomo by the senator. Cuomo had asked the senator to recommend staffers, McArdle further acknowledged—a request that Spitzer's press office says the former attorney general never extended to senate Republicans. Indeed, DeMarco's job didn't even exist while Spitzer was attorney general: She was hired, believe it or not, to lobby Joe Bruno. She is called the legislative liaison to the Senate, but none of a half-dozen Democratic or Republican senators contacted by the Voice knew that Cuomo had a liaison to lobby them. When Spitzer was attorney general, he had a director of legislative affairs (whose job included efforts to get support for his legislative program from the assembly, senate and governor), not a pal for a pol.

DeMarco was given a $10,000 raise by Cuomo on May 3, four months after she started, and spokesman Lerner says that raise was a reflection of her successful efforts on behalf of Cuomo's student-loan reform bill, which was such a heavy lobbying load that it passed both houses of the legislature unanimously. (Lerner actually attributes the unanimous senate passage to DeMarco, rather than seeing it as the sort of non-controversial legislation that needs no lobbyist.)

Securing senate support for Project Sunlight, a good-government public-access program, was a tougher challenge, but spearheading that effort was Sunlight director Blair Horner, who was a registered and highly effective lobbyist himself in Albany for years, and Cuomo himself. The fact is, as the prior structuring of the office under Spitzer makes clear, the attorney general has such a limited legislative agenda that he hardly needs a highly paid liaison just to talk to the senate leader. In fact, DeMarco has so little to do and is so tied to Bruno personally that she has actually been sighted at one of the press conferences he routinely hosts to belittle the governor—hardly an official part of her job duties.

If they fired everyone who got their job because of nepotism or other connections, 99% of the people would be gone. Face it, most of you didn't get there because of your brains. It was either a relative, being a drunk oversized smelly ex-driver, an ex-driver for Lippman (Now a chief), an EMT who can't shut up, or now just being any type of Latino, especially without an education. It is just great that this is all coming out now. Because everything being said is right. The PJ AND Susan Hernandez are classless, clueless, ghetto material. For the civil service titles, Court attendants (not real officers) are not protected under civil service law. Then the Clerk title was opened to all, no test needed, then the famous Analyst title was begun, so anyone with that title can be hired at any salary, and coincidentally fired with no Civil Service protection. So when people get laid off and they have many years on the job, expect no help, they want to protect all the newbies, how do you say that is Spanish? All the Unions are in Bed with OCA, not just CSEA, but Dennis Quirk and all his sidekicks, the pathetic SCO Union, and the Clerks Unions, the Lawyers Association, one is no better than the other. People are right this is a losing battle unless someone has the balls or is cunt enough to speak out loud not hide on this website. You also had to hear that Lippman soundpiece saying he was sorry but the Court Family had to have lay offs. They certainly are family in the AD1 with Papi Gonzalez leading the way. I may lay in his office with my legs spread open and see if a Line 23 comes my way, it seems to have worked for Maria Matos at Comm. Charc. Fitness, Manzanet-Daniels Chambers (ex girl-friend) and her family, Max and his sister in the PJ's Office, who leaves for his Yankee job these days. And 1 part time vulgar mouthed deputy clerk, Elba Castro. Who loves to talk about her tits and ass. The AD1 has sunk to a new level of ghetto Bronx no nothings. They are the very people we all moved out of the bronx and headed North. Good Luck to all of you who are left behind. Freedom is great, we got out just in time...........

There are a a LOT of good people at the AD1, of all races and color, and they all deserve to be there, most of them have worked long and hard to be where they are. This Gonzales administration ruined it for all... All the Judges at AD1 must be BUGGING out. That bitch should remember... Everything comes back to bite you in your Ass. Hey Susan how do you feel now.. You should be embarrassed for the way you have treated people... But all we have to do is wait for the Lord too take care of everything..
