Suffolk Lawyer Is Accused of Mortgage Fraud

A Long Island real estate lawyer faces several felony charges after being indicted for mortgage fraud. Craig Hecht, 44, was arraigned on April 3 before Acting Supreme Court Justice Mark Cohen in Suffolk County on charges of first-degree falsifying business records, second-degree grand larceny and first-degree scheme to defraud. He pleaded not guilty and was released on his own recognizance. "The defendant is alleged to have schemed to obtain mortgage loan proceeds using fraudulent paperwork," Suffolk County District Attorney Thomas Spota said in a statement. An office spokesman declined to say how much money Hecht is alleged to have stolen or whether other individuals were involved in the alleged scheme, saying the investigation was ongoing. Assistant District Attorney Maureen McCormack is handling the case for the prosecution. Hecht's attorney, William D. Wexler of North Babylon, did not return a request for comment. Hecht, who is based in Rocky Point, is a 1993 graduate of Touro Law Center, according to his Unified Court System attorney profile. He did not return a call for comment.

Maybe he took his law school ethics' course from Sol Wachler and Eliot Spitzer
Due to the unclean hands of the entire county of Suffolk. In regard to mortgae fraud. How can Spota or anyone within the entire Suffolk county court system. Prosecute an attorney for mortgage fraud?
The county is the biggest vilian. The recordings in the clerks office in Riverhead.Are ridden with fraud. Judges and officials are the benfactors of mortgage fraud on the own homes.
Anyone interested? Spend a few days in the clerks office. Look up mortgages filed. Cross ref. the names of the Suffolk County officials including the county clerk herself. Note how many subprime mortgages these officialshave obtained.
Something smells rotten here.
I know their dirty secrets.
Spota should be in jail with Guldi. and these gangsters wearing the robes. Sitting on the benches. Worst criminals of all.
Check out the Surragates court. A nightmare of property theft,murder for profit & Life Insurance Fraud.
and Spota is protecting the public. What a joke. The only ones being protected by Spota. Are himself and the SCPD. Worst law violators I ever dealt with.

Now Spota wants to lengthen the term of his position as Distruct attorney.
What will he do if someone honest gets elected to replace him? Suffolk will be sure to replace one crook (Spota) by another.

Rights? A joke. WE THE PEOPLE. Suffolk residents don't have any rights.
The lawyer needs to use the selective prosecution defense that Spota's buddies all do this and it's not a crime.
The above is correct. Suffolk government is more than dirty. It is revolting.
My family has been and continues to be harmed by these gangsters.

You may be correct, however this is about a guy/lawyer that thought he could get away with fraud and carried himself in the community like he was hot shit, turns out hes just another jerkoff, watch how fast he starts singing on others, RAT!
NEVER comment on something that you are not directly involved in, an old saying my Dad had comes to mind, Believe None of what You hear and half of what you see ! there are many circumstances in the legal world that can hang a man or set him free, mostly BS though. In this case I do not think this lawyer would risk losing everything him and his family have for a few bucks, there were many bigger fish involved in this case, and they are frying, I have been a customer of his, and he was clean by the book, He has a wife and children, and I feel he certainly would never do anything to ruin their lives, say what you want, but Mr Hecht is a decent person, The DA's office is out of control here, the criminals are all elected officials !!!
I hired craig hecht to refinance my mortgage, part of his scheme to obtain financing was for my wife and I was to file separation papers, even though we had no marital problems. I agreed to file separation papers with great apprehension, and now my wife has filed for divorce because of this fraudulent scheme of Craig hecht. So when I heard craig hecht was accused of mortgage fraud, my experience confirms the allegations of District Attorney Spota, craig hecht should get everything that is coming to him for being instrumental in the break up of my family.
