NY Lawyer Faces Bribery Charge in Bid to Fake Breathalyzer Test
The New York Law Journal by Vesselin Mitev - November 5, 2008
A Long Island attorney is facing bribery charges after attempting to bribe an officer administering a breathalyzer test, according to police. Unni Krishnan, 54, of Elmont, was arrested Monday evening after police were called to a one-vehicle accident in North Valley Stream. Mr. Krishnan was taken to central booking to be processed, at which point he offered money to an officer to fix the test, Detective Lieutenant Raymond Cote, said in an interview. Despite being warned against offering money, Mr. Krishnan wrote out a check for $2,000 to the officer, Mr. Cote said, telling him he was "a scientist who knew how the equipment worked" and could tweak the results. Mr. Krishnan was then charged with bribery, and aggravated driving while intoxicated, with a blood alcohol level .10 higher than the legal limit. Mr. Krishnan, who has a practice in Queens, could not be reached for comment.

You have to ask why an officer of the court (attorney) would attempt to bribe an officer of the law (cop). Maybe because he could. Maybe because he thought he'd get away with it. Maybe because he knows lawyers are not held accountable, even by the attorney ethics committees; and there would be good reason to believe this: he took care of (bribed) the right people directly or indirectly.
WHAT'S THE SURPRISE!? This is the normal operational pattern for lawyers. This is also the way they deal with their clients who get screwed twice, first when they pay them money and then when they get sold out!
This lawyer's law license should be yanked NOW. Don't give this lawyer 'due process' I didn't get 'due process' from a corrupt NYC commercial division supreme court judge.
Don't forget that almost every judge in this state is a lawyer- over 99.0%. So it appears that the very low opinion of the legal profession, including judges, begins with a person's status as a lawyer. Not a good commentary on our society, huh?
I have suggested the following on past comments:
If you know a judge or a lawyer who drinks and drives or his having affair. Call someone. Call the police as he/she is leaving the bar. Call his/her spouse.
Bring them down one by one and don't waste time with grievance committes. Many of us live in fear of the White Plains Corrupt Court system.....these judges and lawyers should be equally afraid that everyone is watching them.
I am not suggesting harassment. But if you see something....say something and follow up. It is your civic duty.
LOL,LOL,LOL.LOL
enough said.
I hope other people watch the case to make sure he is treated like everone else.
Prosecutor Kathlen Rice must now put his picture on the wall along with the other people charged with DWI.
I think they also publish it in the newspaper.
I hope they get a good picture of him.
maybe the lawyer found out the hard way not all cops can be bribed.
As a lawyer all can lawyers can be bribed for thier own gain not that of thier client.
That's because his name wasn't Allen Isaac, Esq..What happened, what went wrong here? Maybe this guy isn't a member of the Good Old Boys Club and didn't paid his dues.
The lawyer thought he was in court and all he needed to do was make a payoff.
Just wait and see...a few phones are going to be made on behalf of this lawyer and puff everything will disappear...Just like MAGIC!!!!!
Excellent....An honest detective who refused a bribe... we should remember his name...
Now tell me... when will the corrupt Judge's in Suffolk County be exposed?? There seems to be a cluster of Judges and Lawyers... who work together to commit fraud...
Hello!!! is there anybody listening??
The Court Administration, CJC, Chief Administrative Judge of Suffolk, U.S. Attorneys, Suffolk D.A.,have all turned a blind eye..
I wonder does that make them culpable as it pertains to fraud??
