DWI Prosecutor's Appealing Move

'DWI' prosecutor's appealing move
The New York Post by Jamie Schram and Kirstan Conley  -  May 8, 2011

The Bronx DA shipped a scandal-scarred prosecutor to the appeals bureau to keep her out of the limelight as an NYPD ticket-fixing scandal unfolds -- and her drunken-driving case is resolved, sources said yesterday.   A spokesman for DA Robert Johnson declined to specify why authorities moved Jennifer Troiano, 34, who earns more than $67,000 a year and was handling 75 cases in the Arson, Auto, Economic Crime Bureau. "[There was] no cut in pay," spokesman Steven Reed said. "It's not a demotion." Troiano was busted last August when she was allegedly found drunk after an accident. She's also been under investigation for a December 2009 incident in which an alleged DWI charge disappeared after someone pulled strings on her behalf, sources have said.

Double standards have run amuck in this country and the result is lawlessness and no respect for our system of law and order.

Isn't this how the legal system works in NY? The more and bigger crimes you commit, the more you get promoted.

She's probably on the fast tract to take over Lippman's job.

Using the appeals bureau for errant Government lawyers is a decades old solution for their problem attys. Some make it back and the story always goes..he/she is coming from appeals...so everyone knew that the new DA/PD/ETC had issues and therfore they eventually left their jobs, because the attitudes towards them were never quite respectful.
Whether their troubled selves served the appeals dept well was never expressed, but you have to figure NOT, as the Legal/Judicial field in this state at least...rarely sees fit to help a human being that they hired and have employed for years, who should at least deserve some assistance from a Government agency that doles out millions of dollars in programs for criminals... as a reflection of what we call so repeatedly .... Justice in America!
Isn't it wiser for a country to uplift it's many fallen working people, than wastefully pretend that they can ever truly change many of whom come before them in crime, with programs they rarely show up for..which includes probation?
America needs to help those that can be helped foremost, and then with the leftovers, attempt those who resist civility.

Where, oh where have our Scheiderman and Cuomo doggies gone.
Oh where, oh where can they be.
They promised to chase corruption out.
But false Hope and no Chase was all that came about.
Our Scheiderman and Cuomo doggies don't hunt.
The crooked lawyers laugh and grunt.

Another insult to NY:

A couple of complaints and they get investigated.

You are either and appeals attorney or you are not. Being an effective appeals lawyer takes a special breed of lawyer, not one that has been hidden in the dark recesses of the appeals bureau. She will probably never have to wrie an appeal becaus she doesn't have the brains to do it. This woman spent 6 years in the DA office and she only makes 67K a year? What does that tell you?.

Now how about that full-fledged DA that has rumored to have been detained in a county not of her jurisdiction. She is the same DA that while acting as a Asst US Attorney comitted and act of prosecutorial misconduct. Her boss said it was due to a lack of experience has she was only in the office for less than a year. The fact that she was a prosecutor in the Brooklyn DA office for 6 years before that made no difference to her boss. Now she is an elected district attorney of a major NYS county.

You can't make this stuff up.
